50+ nationalities receive a free visa on arrival in the UAE. Check if your country is on the list — and what options exist if it is not.
Citizens of these countries receive a free 30-day visa on arrival at all UAE entry points — no prior application or registration required.
This list covers major nationalities. The full official list is maintained by the UAE Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security at icp.gov.ae. Always verify before travelling.
Citizens of these countries must apply for a UAE visa in advance, unless they hold a qualifying US, UK, EU, or Canadian visa (see below).
Indian citizens who hold one of the following documents qualify for a UAE visa on arrival for 14 days (fee: AED 100 payable at the airport):
The visa or Green Card must be valid and unexpired at the time of UAE entry. The 14-day on-arrival visa can be extended via the UAE ICP app.
The qualifying document rule (US/UK/EU/Canadian visa) is not exclusive to Indian citizens. Citizens of most countries that are not on the standard visa-on-arrival list — including Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, and others — may qualify for UAE visa on arrival if they hold a valid, unexpired visa from the US, UK, EU, or Canada. This is applied at the discretion of UAE immigration authorities.
