The Middle East's premier entertainment destination - four world-class theme parks on one island
Yas Island is a 25-square-kilometre artificial island situated 25 kilometres from Abu Dhabi city centre and approximately 60 kilometres from Dubai, reachable from Dubai in around one hour by car. Developed by Miral, the island has evolved from a Formula 1 circuit into one of the world's most concentrated entertainment destinations, hosting four internationally renowned theme parks, a Formula 1 Grand Prix circuit, Yas Mall, hotels, a marina, and extensive dining and leisure facilities.
The island's scale is deliberately designed for multi-day visits. Attempting all four parks in a single day is not practical - each requires a minimum of 5 to 7 hours to experience properly. Most visitors from Abu Dhabi come for a day trip, while Dubai visitors often opt for a full weekend stay using one of the island's hotels, ranging from budget to five-star resort properties.
Yas Island's four parks cover entirely different experiences - from adrenaline thrill rides to indoor family entertainment, aquatic adventures, and marine discovery. All parks are within minutes of each other on the island.
Home to Formula Rossa, the world's fastest roller coaster at 240 kilometres per hour. The largest indoor theme park globally, themed around Ferrari's racing legacy. Adults rate this as the most thrilling of the four parks. Open 11am to 8pm.
Fully indoor, air-conditioned park featuring DC Super Heroes and Looney Tunes zones. Excellent for families with children aged 5 to 12. Six distinct themed worlds with character meet-and-greets throughout the day. Open 10am to 7pm.
The UAE's largest water park with 45 rides and attractions including the Dawwama, the world's first six-person tornado water slide. Emirati pearl-diving heritage theme throughout the park. Open 10am to 6pm.
Opened in 2023 as the first SeaWorld outside the United States. No killer whales - focuses on marine education alongside rides, live shows, and immersive ocean habitats. Open 10am to 7pm.
Purchasing combo passes through the Yas Island website or Miral app typically saves between 20 and 30 percent compared to individual daily gate tickets. Passes come in 2-park, 3-park, and all-parks configurations with 1-day or 2-day access options.
Starting at AED 530 per adult for access to any two parks within a 2-day window. This is the most popular option for overnight visitors. The pass is valid across 60 days from purchase, giving flexibility in choosing visit dates. Children's prices are proportionally lower.
For UAE residents making multiple visits, the Yas Annual Pass provides unlimited access to all four parks plus dining discounts and priority queuing on selected rides. Multiple tiers at different price points are available direct from Miral.
Always buy tickets online in advance rather than at the gate - online prices are consistently lower, and pre-booking guarantees entry on peak days when parks reach capacity. The Miral app also includes digital queue management for popular rides.
All theme park tickets include unlimited access to standard rides and attractions during opening hours. Premium experiences such as CLYMB indoor skydiving, character dining, and behind-the-scenes tours are priced separately and must be booked in advance.
Yas Island is approximately 25 minutes from Abu Dhabi city centre by car via the Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Highway (E12). Taxis and ride-hailing services including Careem and Uber operate to the island at all hours. Abu Dhabi public buses serve the island, though services are less frequent on weekends.
From Dubai, Yas Island is roughly 60 kilometres, taking 45 minutes to 1.5 hours depending on traffic via the E11 Abu Dhabi-Dubai Road. Private shuttle services operate from major Dubai hotels to Yas Island. Taxis from Dubai cost approximately AED 180 to AED 250 one way. No direct public bus route connects Dubai to Yas Island.
Yas Island is fundamentally a family destination and the infrastructure reflects this fully. All four parks accommodate visitors of all ages with dedicated areas for very young children, accessible facilities for guests with mobility needs, baby changing rooms, nursing facilities, and stroller rental. All halal dining options are widely available.
For families with children of different ages, targeting parks by age range delivers the best experience. Warner Bros. World is outstanding for ages 5 to 10 with character meet-and-greets and gentler rides throughout. SeaWorld is ideal for toddlers and younger children who may not meet height requirements elsewhere. Ferrari World's high-speed rides satisfy older children and adults. Yas Waterworld suits all ages with dedicated splash zones for toddlers alongside extreme slides for teens.
Height restrictions apply to most thrill rides. Children must be a minimum of 105 centimetres for many major attractions and 130 centimetres for high-intensity rides including Formula Rossa. Review height requirements before your visit to manage expectations, particularly with younger children.
