CLYMB Abu Dhabi indoor skydiving climbing

CLYMB Abu Dhabi

The world's widest indoor skydive tunnel and the Middle East's most challenging indoor climbing wall - both on Yas Island

What Is CLYMB Abu Dhabi?

CLYMB Abu Dhabi is a world-record-holding adventure and extreme sports facility on Yas Island, offering two distinct experiences under one roof: iFly, an indoor skydiving wind tunnel with the world's widest body-flight chamber at 12 metres in diameter, and an indoor climbing wall experience scaling some of the most challenging vertical terrain in the indoor climbing world.

Unlike the four theme parks on Yas Island, CLYMB is an activity facility rather than a passive entertainment park. Guests participate rather than ride. The experience is suited to adventure seekers, families with older children and teenagers, fitness enthusiasts, and anyone wanting to experience the sensation of freefall skydiving without the need for an aircraft or outdoor skydiving certification. Instructors accompany all first-time flyers through every step of the experience.

The Two Experiences

iFly Indoor Skydiving

AED 195
per person for 2 flights

The iFly wind tunnel at CLYMB creates wind speeds of up to 280 kilometres per hour, powerful enough to suspend adult bodies in mid-air. The tunnel is 12 metres wide - by far the world's largest - allowing multiple flyers to experience body flight simultaneously, and giving certified flyers room for advanced manoeuvres that are impossible in narrower tunnels globally.

The standard iFly package for first-timers includes a pre-flight training session with a certified instructor, flight gear rental including jumpsuit, helmet, and goggles, and two flight rotations in the tunnel. Each rotation lasts approximately 60 seconds - the equivalent of a 12,000-foot skydive freefall. Instructors fly alongside participants throughout their first flights.

Indoor Climbing Wall

AED 75
per person, equipment included

The CLYMB climbing wall reaches 43 metres in height and offers over 4,000 square metres of climbable surface across multiple face styles. Routes are available for complete beginners through to advanced and competition-level climbers, with regular route-setting by professional route designers maintaining fresh challenges for returning visitors.

The facility includes auto-belay sections for solo climbing, lead climbing and top-rope sections, a dedicated bouldering area without ropes, and a children's climbing zone suitable for ages 4 and above. All necessary equipment including climbing shoes and harnesses is included in the entry price. Instructors provide beginner guidance and safety briefings.

Who Can Participate?

iFly Indoor Skydiving Requirements

  • Minimum age: 3 years old
  • Minimum weight: No restriction; maximum 130kg
  • No experience required - full training provided
  • Participants with recent back, neck, or shoulder injuries should consult a physician
  • Pregnant guests are not permitted to fly
  • Those with heart conditions or epilepsy should seek medical advice before flying
  • Glasses wearers receive oversized goggles - contact lenses preferred

Advanced Flying

Certified and experienced flyers can book advanced flight time in the world's widest tunnel, accessing capabilities unavailable in any other indoor skydiving facility globally. Dynamic flying, formation flying, and vertical wind tunnel coaching is available for those looking to develop skydiving skills without outdoor jumps.

Climbing Wall Requirements

  • Minimum age for climbing: 4 years old
  • Children under 15 require a supervising adult
  • No prior climbing experience needed for beginner routes
  • Open to all fitness levels - routes start at very easy grades
  • Closed-toe shoes must be worn (climbing shoes provided)
  • Long hair must be tied back
  • Jewellery and watches must be removed before climbing

Medical Considerations

Both activities involve physical exertion. Guests with recent surgeries, musculoskeletal injuries, or chronic conditions should consult their physician before booking. CLYMB staff are trained to advise on participation suitability and may decline participation on safety grounds if health concerns are identified at check-in.

Planning Your CLYMB Visit

Booking in Advance

CLYMB operates timed session booking for the iFly tunnel. Unlike the Yas Island theme parks, you cannot simply arrive and fly - timeslots fill in advance, particularly on weekends and during school holidays. Booking through the CLYMB website is essential, especially if you have a specific time requirement or are visiting with a group.

The climbing wall accepts walk-in visitors more readily than the iFly tunnel, but peak times including weekend evenings can see waits. Early morning and weekday visits are consistently the easiest for walk-in access to both experiences.

Combining CLYMB with a Park Visit

CLYMB is priced separately from the four Yas Island theme parks and is not included in standard multi-park passes. It can be combined with a half-day at an adjacent park, particularly if you purchase an afternoon session for one activity and use the morning at Warner Bros. World or another indoor park. The facility's 10pm closing time makes it viable as an evening activity after a full park day.

Group Bookings

CLYMB offers group rates and private event packages for corporate groups, birthday parties, team-building events, and school excursions. Group discounts apply from 10 or more participants. Contact the facility's events team for customised packages including private tunnel hire.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is indoor skydiving scary?

Most first-time flyers report that the experience is exhilarating rather than terrifying. Unlike outdoor skydiving, there is no aircraft, no altitude, and no freefall sensation - you are suspended in a controlled wind column close to the ground throughout. Instructors are with you at all times. The vast majority of first-timers immediately request additional flight time after their session.

How long does the iFly experience take in total?

Allow approximately 2 hours from arrival for the full iFly first-timer experience, including check-in, gear fitting, ground school training, waiting for your timeslot, the two flight rotations, and any debrief or additional flights. The actual flying time is approximately 2 minutes total across two rotations.

Is the climbing suitable for complete beginners?

Yes. CLYMB's route-setting includes very easy introductory routes designed specifically for children and adults with no prior climbing experience. Staff members provide a safety briefing and basic technique guidance for beginners. The auto-belay system on introductory routes allows solo climbing without requiring a belaying partner.

Can I bring spectators who do not participate?

Yes. CLYMB has spectator areas with views of both the iFly tunnel and the climbing wall. Non-participating guests including elderly family members or parents watching their children are welcome to watch from these areas without purchasing activity tickets.
