Dubai's premium coastal district, 12km of Arabian Gulf beachfront, luxury hotels, open-air malls, the city's most-photographed mosque, and a relaxed lifestyle that contrasts with the downtown skyline.
Jumeirah is Dubai's most established luxury residential and beach district, stretching from Satwa in the north to Umm Suqeim in the south. The area encompasses Jumeirah 1, Jumeirah 2, Jumeirah 3, and Umm Suqeim. The main artery is Jumeirah Road (also called Beach Road), running parallel to the Gulf coast.
Unlike Downtown Dubai or Dubai Marina, Jumeirah has a more residential character, grand villas, boutique hotels, and open-air shopping complexes rather than skyscrapers. The Burj Al Arab sits at its southern end in Umm Suqeim, arguably Dubai's most recognisable building.
For visitors, the appeal is beaches (several free public access points), the Jumeirah Mosque, La Mer waterfront complex, Kite Beach, and some of Dubai's best independent restaurants and cafes outside the main tourist circuits.
