The Rides

Jumeirah Sceirah

Extreme

Twin free-fall slides reaching 33 metres — the tallest waterslide in the Middle East when Wild Wadi opened. Riders reach speeds of up to 80km/h. Two people can race each other down parallel slides simultaneously. Minimum height: 1.2m. One of the longest queues in the park — tackle it within the first 30 minutes of arrival.

Wipeout Flowrider

Extreme / Skill

Wild Wadi's most popular and unique attraction — a continuous artificial surf wave on which riders use a bodyboard or attempt to stand on a surfboard. Suitable for both beginners (bodyboard, lying down) and experienced riders attempting to stand. Staff provide coaching. This ride draws consistent queues throughout the day — it is a genuine surfing experience without leaving Dubai.

Riptide Flowrider

Extreme / Skill

The stand-up surfboard version of the Wipeout flowrider concept, for more experienced riders. Requires stronger balance than the bodyboard version. Popular with older teens and adults who want to attempt stand-up surfing. Expect queues throughout the day — the flowriders are Wild Wadi's defining feature and crowds know it.

Breaker's Bay Wave Pool

Moderate

A large wave pool generating consistent 1.8-metre waves. Suitable for swimming, bodyboarding, and just floating on the regular wave cycles. The largest open gathering space in the park — a good base of operations between rides. Life vests available at no cost for non-swimmers.

Tunnel of Doom and Tantrum Alley

Thrilling

Multi-person raft rides on enclosed tube slides with twists and drops. The family-friendly equivalents of the extreme slides — exciting without being terrifying. Four people can ride together, making them popular with groups and families. Minimum height: 1.0m for some, 1.2m for others — check signage at each ride.

Wipeout Junior & Riptide Junior

Kids

Scaled-down flowrider versions designed for children under 1.1m. Same concept as the adult flowriders but with a gentler, lower wave height. Supervised by staff. One of the few waterpark children's attractions in Dubai that actually delivers a genuine surfing experience for younger visitors rather than just shallow pools.

Juha's Dhow and Lagoon

Kids / Family

Dedicated children's play area with shallow pools, small slides, water sprays, and interactive water features scaled for young children. Lifeguards stationed throughout. Parents can supervise from adjacent seating areas. Suitable for children of all heights — the shallowest areas are only 20-30cm deep.

Lazy River

Relaxed

A meandering river circuit with tubes provided for floating at a gentle pace. Passes through sections with small rapids and water features before returning to calm stretches. A full circuit takes approximately 10-15 minutes. The best way to rest and cool down between the park's more intense attractions.

Tips for Your Wild Wadi Day

  • Arrive at exactly 10am when the park opens. Jumeirah Sceirah (the tallest slide) and the flowriders draw long queues by 11am. Doing these first means 15-minute waits rather than 45-minute ones.
  • The flowriders (Wipeout and Riptide) are Wild Wadi's most distinctive attraction — they are the best artificial surf waves in any UAE waterpark. Budget at least 60-90 minutes across multiple attempts. Staff are patient and helpful for beginners.
  • Book tickets online before visiting. The Wild Wadi website sometimes offers promotional pricing that is cheaper than gate walk-up. Online booking also reserves your entry time.
  • Breaker's Bay wave pool is the best option during the hottest part of the day (12pm-2pm) when queues for slides peak. Float in the wave pool, then return to the slides from 3pm as the afternoon crowds thin out.
  • The park is smaller and more navigable than Aquaventure — you can realistically try every major attraction in a single day without feeling rushed. Wild Wadi rewards a relaxed pace.
  • If visiting with children under 1.0m, Wild Wadi's Wipeout Junior and Juha's Dhow children's area are genuinely good — not just shallow paddling pools. The junior flowrider is a real highlight for young children who would otherwise be excluded from the main wave attractions.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Wild Wadi Waterpark cost?

Wild Wadi Waterpark costs AED 285 for adults and AED 240 for children under 1.1m in height. Children under 2 years are free. Jumeirah Beach Hotel and Burj Al Arab guests receive complimentary daily access as part of their hotel room rate. Tickets are available online or at the entrance.

What is the best ride at Wild Wadi?

The Wipeout and Riptide Flowriders are Wild Wadi's most unique and popular attractions — surf simulation machines generating a continuous wave that allows bodyboarding and stand-up surfing. They are the best flowriders in any UAE waterpark. Jumeirah Sceirah (twin 33-metre slides, racing at up to 80km/h) is the standout thrill ride. The Breaker's Bay wave pool is the best attraction for a more relaxed experience.

Is Wild Wadi better than Aquaventure?

Wild Wadi is smaller (30+ rides vs. 105+) but has a more intimate, less crowded feel and is AED 100 cheaper per adult. Aquaventure has more extreme rides, a longer lazy river, and includes a private 1.4km beach. Wild Wadi's flowriders are its major advantage over Aquaventure, which has no surf simulation equivalent. For families on a budget or visitors specifically wanting the surfing experience, Wild Wadi is the better choice.

Where is Wild Wadi Waterpark?

Wild Wadi is on Jumeirah Beach Road in Umm Suqeim, directly adjacent to the Jumeirah Beach Hotel and opposite the Burj Al Arab. By taxi from Dubai Marina it is approximately AED 25-35 (15 minutes). From Downtown Dubai, approximately AED 40-55 (25 minutes). The nearest Metro is Mall of the Emirates (Red Line), then a 10-minute taxi.

Can I visit Wild Wadi without staying at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel?

Yes — Wild Wadi is fully open to the public and no hotel stay is required. Purchase tickets at the entrance or online. Adults AED 285, children under 1.1m AED 240. Jumeirah Beach Hotel and Burj Al Arab guests receive complimentary access included in their room rate, but this is a guest benefit rather than a requirement — everyone else pays at the gate.
