The Rides — What to Expect

Aquaventure has 105+ water attractions across multiple ride zones built around the Atlantis towers. Here are the standout experiences by intensity level.

Poseidon's Revenge

Extreme

The park's signature thrill ride. Riders stand in a capsule that drops through a trap door, sending them on a near-vertical plunge through a 27-metre tube. Includes a loop section. Minimum height: 1.2m. Queue longest of any ride — do this first upon entry.

Tower of Neptune & Tower of Triton

Extreme

Twin towers rising from the centre of the park with multiple slides branching off at different heights. Includes Master Blasters (uphill water jets), speed slides, and tube rides. Riders can choose from extreme to moderate options from the same towers. Excellent variety for groups.

Leap of Faith

Extreme

A near-vertical 27-metre drop through the Mayan-themed structure that sends riders through a clear tunnel passing through the shark-filled Ambassador Lagoon. One of the most photographed waterpark experiences anywhere in the world. Height minimum: 1.2m.

Aquaconda

Thrilling

The world's largest waterslide by volume when built — four-person raft ride through an enormous funnel. Families and groups of four can ride together, making it popular with those wanting a shared thrill rather than solo rides. Minimum height: 1.0m per rider.

Shark Attack

Thrilling

A body slide that passes through the shark lagoon in a transparent tube. Less extreme than Leap of Faith but the visual of sharks swimming around the tube is memorable. Suitable for confident swimmers aged 8 and above.

2.3km Lazy River

Relaxed

The centrepiece of Aquaventure's calmer experience — a river circuit that loops around the park, passing through areas with small rapids, waterfalls, and calm stretches. Tubes provided. A full circuit takes approximately 20-25 minutes. Excellent for cooling down between thrill rides.

Splashers Children's Zone

Kids

Dedicated children's area for young visitors and smaller children. Shallow pools, mini slides, water spouts, and play structures scaled for children under 1.1m. Fully supervised area. Parents can watch from pool-side seating. Excellent for families with mixed ages.

Aquaventure Private Beach (1.4km)

Beach

Included in all Aquaventure tickets. A 1.4km stretch of private crescent beach on the Arabian Sea, with sun loungers, watersports rentals, and beach bar. Calmer water than the Gulf-side beaches. Often used for resting between park activities. Sun loungers: AED 100-200 for the day.

Tips to Get the Most from Your Aquaventure Day

  • Arrive at 10am sharp when the park opens. The most popular thrill rides (Poseidon's Revenge, Leap of Faith) have their shortest queues in the first 60-90 minutes. By midday, queues can reach 30-45 minutes for these rides.
  • Book tickets online before visiting. The Atlantis website and official app offer online pricing that is sometimes AED 20-30 cheaper than walk-up gate prices, and guarantees entry on busy days.
  • Bring your own reusable water bottle — keeping hydrated in the Dubai sun is essential and the park water stations allow refills. This saves AED 15-25 per person on bottled water throughout the day.
  • Weekday visits (Sunday-Thursday) have significantly shorter queues than Fridays and Saturdays. If your schedule allows, mid-week is the optimal choice.
  • The Lazy River is the best option during the hottest part of the day (12pm-2pm) when queues for slides are longest. Use this window to float and recover, then tackle the big rides again from 3pm onward as crowds thin.
  • The private beach is included — spend 2-3 hours there in the late afternoon when the sun is lower and the water temperature is at its most comfortable.
  • If visiting in summer (June-September), the metal and plastic surfaces in the park heat up significantly. Water shoes are highly recommended to protect feet while walking between attractions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Aquaventure Waterpark costs AED 385 for adults and AED 320 for children under 1.2m in height. Children under 2 years old are free. A sunset entry ticket (after 3pm) is available from approximately AED 225 for adults. Hotel guests at Atlantis The Palm receive complimentary access included in their room rate.

What are the best rides at Aquaventure?

Poseidon's Revenge (near-vertical capsule drop) and Leap of Faith (vertical plunge through the shark lagoon) are the signature thrill rides. The Tower of Neptune and Tower of Triton offer a range of slides from extreme to moderate. The Aquaconda is ideal for groups of four. The 2.3km Lazy River is the best relaxation option. Do the major thrill rides in the first hour after opening before queues build.

What time does Aquaventure open?

Aquaventure is open daily from 10am to 6pm. Arrive at opening for the shortest queues on the most popular rides. The park is busiest on Fridays, Saturdays, and UAE public holidays. During peak tourist season (December-March), the park sometimes extends hours to 7pm on selected days.

Is Aquaventure worth the price?

Aquaventure consistently ranks among the top five waterparks in the world and the 1.4km private beach included with every ticket is a significant perk in its own right. At AED 385 for adults, it is comparable to premium waterparks globally. For a full day of rides, beach, and the lazy river, most visitors consider it excellent value for a Dubai experience — particularly families who can use the Splashers children's zone and beach simultaneously.

Can I visit Aquaventure without staying at Atlantis?

Yes — Aquaventure is fully open to day visitors who are not hotel guests. Purchase tickets online through the Atlantis website or at the entrance on arrival. Online advance purchase is strongly recommended as walk-up capacity is restricted during busy periods. Free parking is available for day visitors at the Atlantis car park.
