A 5-day Dubai adventure itinerary at a glance
This Dubai adventure itinerary gives you one headline activity per day for five days: indoor skiing on arrival day, a tandem skydive, the desert, a day of mountain biking and kayaking in Hatta, and the Jais Flight zipline in Ras Al Khaimah. Heavy activities are spread out so you are not skydiving on the morning after a late desert night, and each day has a weather back-up. Prices below are those listed by operators or official booking platforms in September 2026; check before booking, as they change with season and demand.
| Day | Main activity | Where | Listed price (adult) | Key limits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Ski Dubai slope session | Mall of the Emirates | 2-hour slope pass from about AED 305 | Lessons needed if you have never skied |
| 2 | Tandem skydive | Palm Jumeirah or Desert Campus | Palm AED 2,199; Desert AED 1,899 (photos and video extra) | 18 to 75; weight and BMI limits |
| 3 | Desert: dune buggy or quad, then an evening safari | Desert south-east of the city | Varies widely by operator and vehicle | Driving your own buggy usually has age and licence rules |
| 4 | Hatta: mountain biking and kayaking | Hatta Wadi Hub and Hatta Dam | Free entry; pay per activity | Around 90 minutes' drive each way |
| 5 | Jais Flight zipline | Jebel Jais, Ras Al Khaimah | From about AED 325, varies by day | Minimum height and weight limits |
Only have a single day? Our one-day Dubai adventure plan fits the highlights into one schedule.
Day 1: Arrive and ski indoors at Ski Dubai
Ski Dubai is a sensible first-day activity because it is indoors, bookable by time slot and unaffected by jet lag or heat. It sits inside Mall of the Emirates, which has its own Red Line Metro station.
- What it is: a real-snow indoor slope about 400 metres long with an 85-metre drop, kept at around minus 4°C.
- Cost: 2-hour slope passes are listed from about AED 305 for adults, with full-day passes costing more. Ski or snowboard kit and outerwear are included with slope passes; bring gloves or buy them on site.
- Beginners: you need to show you can turn and stop to use the main slope. If not, book a lesson instead of a slope pass.
- Evening: stay local and sleep early before the skydive.
Our Ski Dubai guide compares passes, lessons and the snow park.
Day 2: Tandem skydive over the Palm (or the desert)
The skydive is the most expensive and most weather-dependent activity on the list, which is why it goes early in the trip. If winds cancel your slot, you have days in hand to rebook.
- Palm Dropzone: views over Palm Jumeirah and the Marina. Skydive Dubai lists AED 2,199 for the jump, or AED 2,749 with photos and video.
- Desert Campus: dunes rather than skyline, listed at AED 1,899, or AED 2,199 with photos and video.
- Eligibility: age 18 to 75 (a doctor-signed fitness form is required from 70). Men up to 100 kg and BMI 30; women up to 90 kg and BMI 27.5, weighed in clothes and shoes.
- Time: allow three to four hours from check-in. Your booking time is the arrival time, not the jump time, and weather holds can add waiting.
- Afternoon: keep it light. Aquaventure on the Palm is close by if you still have energy; its day pass is listed at around AED 350 for adults.
See our skydiving in Dubai guide for Palm versus desert and what happens on the day.
Day 3: Desert day, dune buggies and an evening safari
Spend the morning resting or by the pool, then head out in the afternoon when the sand starts to cool.
- Mid-afternoon: a guided dune buggy or quad bike session. Driving yourself gives more adrenaline than sitting in a 4x4; operators set their own age, licence and passenger rules, so check before paying.
- Late afternoon to evening: a desert safari with dune driving, sunset in the dunes and dinner at a camp. Ask the operator how much dune driving is included and whether sandboarding is part of the package.
- Price: safaris and buggy sessions vary a lot depending on group size, vehicle and inclusions, so compare what is included rather than the headline price.
Our desert safari guide explains the difference between shared, private and overnight options.
Day 4: Hatta, mountain biking and kayaking
Hatta is Dubai's mountain exclave in the Hajar Mountains, around 90 minutes' drive from the city. It swaps sand for rock, trails and a turquoise dam.
- Hatta Wadi Hub: free entry; you pay per activity. Options have included mountain bike and e-bike hire, a climbing wall, archery, ziplines and a freefall jump.
- Mountain biking: the trail network suits beginners to experienced riders; bike hire is charged by the hour.
- Hatta Dam: rent a kayak or pedal boat and paddle between the rock walls. Go in the morning, before the midday heat and the weekend crowds.
- Getting there: hire car, private driver or a tour. Public transport is limited.
Planning logistics, hours and where to eat are in our Dubai to Hatta day trip guide.
Day 5: Jebel Jais and the world's longest zipline
Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah is the UAE's highest mountain. Allow roughly 1.5 to 2 hours by road from Dubai each way, depending on traffic and where you are staying.
- Jais Flight: a 2.83-kilometre zipline, recognised by Guinness World Records as the world's longest, starting at 1,680 metres above sea level. Riders fly face-down at speeds of up to 160 km/h.
- Jais Sky Tour: six connected ziplines totalling about 5 km over roughly two hours, a longer but gentler option.
- Cost and limits: Jais Flight tickets are listed from about AED 325 depending on the day. Minimum height and minimum and maximum weight limits apply; check them on the booking page before you travel.
- Timing: mountain temperatures are several degrees cooler than the coast, but high winds can pause the zipline, so book an earlier slot.
Our Jebel Jais zipline guide covers tickets, what to wear and the drive up.
Swap days and extra activities
Staying longer, or a skydive has been postponed? These slot into a spare morning:
- Water sports: jet skis, parasailing, wakeboarding and flyboarding run from marinas and beach clubs. Licensed operators supply life jackets and a briefing; some routes are guided rather than free-ride. See our Dubai water sports guide.
- XLine Dubai Marina: a 1-kilometre urban zipline. The operator's website showed it as temporarily closed in September 2026, so check before planning around it.
- Aquaventure: steep slides such as the Leap of Faith, a good recovery-day compromise.
Safety and practical requirements
- Travel advice: as of late September 2026 the regional security situation is volatile, and some governments, including Canada, advise against non-essential travel to the UAE. Check your own government's advice and keep bookings flexible.
- Waivers and health: expect to sign a liability waiver and declare medical conditions. Pregnancy, recent injuries, and heart or back problems usually rule out skydiving and ziplines.
- Insurance: many travel policies exclude skydiving, ziplining and off-road driving unless you add adventure cover.
- Heat: drink more water than you think you need, avoid alcohol the night before a jump, and schedule outdoor activities early from May to September.
- Clothing: closed shoes for skydiving, ziplines and buggies; modest clothing that you do not mind getting dusty.

Ask us about your adventure daysFrequently asked questions
How many days do I need for a Dubai adventure itinerary?
Five days covers the big set pieces without stacking two heavy activities on the same day: indoor skiing, a tandem skydive, the desert, a Hatta day and the Jebel Jais zipline. With three days, keep the skydive, the desert and one mountain day. If you only have one day, follow our one-day adventure plan instead.
What are the requirements for a tandem skydive in Dubai?
Skydive Dubai lists an age range of 18 to 75, with a doctor-signed fitness declaration needed from age 70. Weight limits are 100 kg and a BMI of 30 or less for men, and 90 kg and a BMI of 27.5 or less for women, measured in clothes and shoes at check-in. Allow three to four hours on site.
When is the best time of year for adventure activities in Dubai?
November to March is the most comfortable time for outdoor activities such as skydiving, dune driving, mountain biking and the Jebel Jais zipline. From June to September, book outdoor activities for early morning and lean on indoor options such as Ski Dubai in the middle of the day. Wind and weather can postpone skydives and ziplines in any month, so leave a spare day.
Do I need special insurance for adventure activities in Dubai?
Check your travel insurance before you book. Many policies exclude skydiving, ziplining or off-road driving unless you add adventure cover. Operators may include some insurance in their prices, but that does not replace your own medical and cancellation cover.
Can teenagers do this adventure itinerary?
Partly. Tandem skydiving at Skydive Dubai is 18 and over. Ski Dubai, Hatta activities and desert trips are open to younger visitors, and zipline operators set their own minimum height, weight and age rules, usually with parental consent for under-18s. Families with younger children should follow our family itinerary instead.
Can I do a Dubai adventure itinerary without a car?
Yes for Ski Dubai, which is inside Mall of the Emirates on the Red Line Metro. Skydive and desert operators often include or sell hotel transfers. Hatta and Jebel Jais are easiest with a hire car, a private driver or a tour that includes transport, since public transport to both is limited.
