What is Global Village Dubai?

Global Village Dubai is a seasonal open-air park in Dubailand where countries and regions run themed pavilions selling food, crafts and souvenirs, alongside stage shows, a funfair and street entertainment. It opens only in the cooler months, in the evening, and most visitors spend three to five hours walking the pavilions, eating and watching shows.

Think of it as a night market, food festival and small theme park in one site. Entry is a low-cost gate ticket; food, shopping and rides are paid for separately. At the end of Season 30 the park reported around 30 pavilions representing more than 90 cultures, over 3,500 shopping outlets and more than 250 places to eat. The line-up changes every season, so treat any list of countries as a guide rather than a promise.

Country pavilions

Each pavilion has a facade inspired by its country's architecture, with stalls inside selling textiles, spices, sweets, jewellery and homeware. The largest pavilions draw the biggest crowds after 8pm.

Street food and restaurants

Kiosks and sit-down outlets cover everything from Turkish ice cream and Emirati luqaimat to Asian street snacks. Prices vary by stall; expect Dubai casual-dining prices rather than souk prices.

Rides

Carnaval funfair

The funfair area has rides for toddlers through to thrill-seekers. Rides are not included in the gate ticket and are paid for separately, so check prices at the ride area before you commit.

How to get to Global Village

By car: Global Village sits beside Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road (E311) in Dubailand, roughly between the Al Barsha and Dubai Silicon Oasis areas. Search "Global Village" in your maps app rather than relying on an exit number. Large car parks surround the site; the rows nearest the gates fill first on Friday and Saturday evenings, so arriving close to opening time helps. By RTA bus: During the season the RTA runs dedicated routes to Global Village. In Season 30 these were route 102 from Al Rashidiya Bus Station, 103 from Union Bus Station, 104 from Al Ghubaiba Bus Station and 106 from Mall of the Emirates Bus Station, each running roughly every 40 to 60 minutes. Planning your evening at Global Village

When to go

Weeknights from Sunday to Thursday are generally calmer than Friday and Saturday. The first few weeks after opening in October can still be warm; evenings from December to February are the most comfortable but also the busiest. Our best time to visit Dubai page covers month-by-month weather.

A simple route round the site

The pavilions ring a central lake and main stage. A practical plan: walk one side of the ring while it is quieter, eat around 7pm to 8pm before the kiosk queues peak, watch a main-stage show, then finish the other side and the funfair.

Families with young children

Paths are paved and pushchair-friendly, though crowds on weekend nights make them slow going. Agree a meeting point near a large landmark, such as the main stage, in case anyone gets separated.

Practical tips

Check the official website or app on the day for show times, fireworks nights and any schedule changes.
Carry a card and some cash. Most larger outlets take cards, but a few small stalls prefer cash.
Wear comfortable shoes. You will walk a lot, and a full loop of the pavilions takes time.
Bargaining is normal at many craft and textile stalls, less so at food outlets.
Bring a light layer from December to February, when evenings can feel cool in the open air.
Plan your return before you arrive: note the bus timetable or allow time for the taxi queue at closing.
Dress modestly: shoulders and knees covered is a sensible rule at a family venue.
