The Pointe is not open to visitors. In May 2023 its developer, Nakheel, confirmed that tenants had been served notice for the future redevelopment of the site, and restaurants and shops were given 12 months to leave. The Palm Fountain, which sat in the water between The Pointe and Atlantis, closed on 15 May 2023.
Property listings sites that track Palm Jumeirah projects report that the plot has been relaunched as The Palm Crown, a luxury residential villa community. That points to homes rather than a new public promenade. We have not seen any announcement of the site reopening as a dining or leisure destination, so treat it as closed until Nakheel says otherwise.
Watch out for old listings: older blog posts, map pins and ride-hailing destinations may still show The Pointe and its restaurants. If a driver or an app sends you there for dinner, you will find a construction site, not a promenade. Book restaurants directly and check that they are trading at a current address.

The Pointe was a Nakheel waterfront development on the Palm Jumeirah crescent, directly across the water from Atlantis The Palm. Its curved promenade was lined with restaurants and cafes facing the hotel, and the complex also had shops and a cinema. It was popular for evening walks and dinners with a view of Atlantis lit up at night.
Its best-known feature was the Palm Fountain, which opened in October 2020 and was recognised by Guinness World Records as the world's largest fountain. Evening shows set to music, with Atlantis as the backdrop, drew many visitors who never ate at The Pointe at all. Those shows ended when the fountain closed in May 2023.
If you remember The Pointe from an earlier trip, the closest experience today is an evening at Palm West Beach or a walk along the Boardwalk, followed by the free Dubai Fountain shows in Downtown Dubai if a fountain show is the main thing you want.
