The best Indian restaurants in Dubai at a glance
The best Indian restaurants in Dubai for a special occasion are Trèsind Studio, Jamavar and Avatara, all of which held Michelin stars in the 2025 Michelin Guide Dubai. For good-value modern Indian, the guide's Bib Gourmand picks such as Indya by Vineet and Khadak are a safer bet. For casual, authentic meals, Karama's long-running restaurants such as Saravanaa Bhavan, Calicut Paragon and Rajdhani are where Dubai's Indian residents eat. Awards and menus change, so check the current Michelin Guide and each restaurant's site before booking.
We chose these restaurants on three criteria: an independent recognition or long track record, a clear speciality, and evidence they are operating as of September 2026. We have left out places we could not confirm.

Fine dining: Michelin-starred Indian restaurants
Trèsind Studio
Chef Himanshu Saini's tasting-menu restaurant became the first Indian restaurant in the world to receive three Michelin stars, at the Michelin Guide Dubai ceremony in May 2025. Seats are limited and it books out well ahead, so reserve through its official site as early as you can. Expect a long, multi-course set menu rather than à la carte dishes.
Jamavar Dubai
Jamavar, near Dubai Opera in Downtown, entered the guide with one Michelin star in 2025. The menu covers classic North Indian cooking with premium ingredients, and inspectors singled out its goat curry. It suits diners who want familiar dishes done very well rather than an experimental menu.
Avatara
Avatara in Dubai Hills is a fully vegetarian Indian tasting-menu restaurant with one Michelin star. It is the obvious pick for vegetarian travellers who want a fine-dining night out.
Smart but good value: Bib Gourmand picks
The Michelin Bib Gourmand label highlights restaurants the inspectors consider good value. Indya by Vineet and Khadak both carry it for modern Indian cooking. They are a sensible choice for a relaxed dinner with friends without a tasting-menu bill. Check the Michelin Guide Dubai overview for the wider list.
Casual and authentic: Karama favourites
Karama is the heart of everyday Indian dining in Dubai. Restaurants here serve mainly Indian residents, so food is home-style and prices are far lower than in hotel restaurants.
- Saravanaa Bhavan: the Chennai-born chain has several Dubai branches, with a well-known one in Al Karama. Order masala dosa, idli with sambar and filter coffee.
- Calicut Paragon: the Kerala restaurant from Kozhikode has branches in Karama and Al Nahda. Crab dishes, fish curries and Malabar biryani are the reasons to go.
- Rajdhani: vegetarian Gujarati and Rajasthani thali in Karama, with many small dishes, breads, rice and a sweet on one plate.
- Bikanervala: vegetarian chaat, thalis and Indian sweets. Useful for a quick lunch or buying mithai.

How to choose and book

- Vegetarian: Avatara, Saravanaa Bhavan, Rajdhani and Bikanervala are all fully vegetarian.
- Weekends: the UAE weekend is Saturday and Sunday, and Friday and Saturday nights are busiest. Casual Karama restaurants are generally walk-in.
- Halal: meat served in Dubai restaurants is halal as standard. Pork is only served at licensed venues with separate handling.
