Where old and new Dubai meet — a beautifully designed heritage waterfront on Dubai Creek with traditional wind-tower architecture, creek views, and waterfront dining.
Al Seef is a Meraas-developed heritage lifestyle destination opened in 2017 on Dubai Creek, in the Bur Dubai area adjacent to Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood. It recreates the architectural character of old Dubai — wind towers, arched passages, traditional materials — while housing contemporary restaurants, boutiques, and galleries.
The promenade runs along Dubai Creek, offering beautiful views across the water to the Deira dhow wharves. Traditional wooden dhows pass throughout the day. At sunset and evening, Al Seef is particularly atmospheric — lights reflect on the creek, the cafes fill, and the mix of old and new Dubai is most evident.
Best time to visit: Evening (after 6pm) when the lights create the most atmospheric setting. The creek reflects the heritage building lights beautifully. Sunset is particularly photogenic with dhows passing against the illuminated facades.
Al Seef is a heritage-themed waterfront lifestyle destination on Dubai Creek, developed by Meraas in 2017. It combines traditional Arabian architecture (wind towers, arched passageways) with contemporary restaurants, boutiques, and galleries along the historic Dubai Creek promenade.
Yes — completely free to enter and walk around. The promenade, heritage architecture, creek views, and gallery browsing are all free. Only restaurants, cafes, and shops require payment.
Metro: Green Line to Al Fahidi or BurJuman station, then 10-15 minute walk along the Creek. Water taxi (Abra): AED 1 from Bur Dubai Abra station to Old Souk Abra Station (Deira side), then 5-minute walk. Taxi from Downtown: AED 20-30, 10-15 minutes.
Walk the waterfront promenade with Creek views, dine at waterfront restaurants, take an Abra boat ride, browse local boutiques and galleries, and photograph the traditional heritage architecture. Combine with Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood (5-minute walk) and Dubai Museum (10-minute walk) for a complete Old Dubai experience.
Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood is authentic 19th-century architecture preserved in its original state — narrow alleys, wind towers, and galleries in genuinely old buildings. Al Seef is a newer (2017) development that recreates the heritage atmosphere with modern amenities — more restaurants and retail but less authenticity. Both are worth visiting in the same trip (5-minute walk apart).
