For a Dubai family itinerary with school-age kids, plan four days: Downtown and Burj Khalifa, a full theme park day, Dubai Safari Park or Miracle Garden (open from October), and a beach day ending with an evening in the desert. Put the outdoor activity in the morning, spend the hottest hours indoors or at the hotel pool, and keep each day in one part of the city.

Book Burj Khalifa At the Top for a morning or late-evening slot: non-prime adult tickets start from about AED 173, while late-afternoon prime slots cost much more (as of September 2026, check the official site). Children under a set age go free, but the threshold is quoted differently by sellers, so confirm when booking. Spend the middle of the day in Dubai Mall, where the aquarium tank is visible free from the mall floor, and finish with the free Dubai Fountain shows in the evening. LEGOLAND Dubai is the best fit for children aged roughly 3 to 10. Tickets are AED 295 per person online at least a day ahead, or AED 330 at the gate, and under-3s go free with ID. Ride height limits start at 80 cm but many rides need more, so check the official list. Arrive at opening, take a long indoor lunch, and leave before the kids are exhausted. Both are seasonal. Dubai Safari Park closes over summer and says tickets for its next season will be on sale from October 2026; last season's basic pass was AED 50 and under-3s enter free. Dubai Miracle Garden reopens on 8 October 2026 with general admission at AED 100 for adults and AED 80 for children, free for under-3s (prices exclude VAT). Go early, as both have limited shade. Spend the morning at JBR or Kite Beach, rest after lunch, then take an afternoon pickup to the desert. For children, choose an operator with a family option, ask about car seats and minimum ages, and skip aggressive dune bashing with younger kids. Family tip: Book timed attractions like Burj Khalifa and theme parks online in advance, as online prices are often lower than at the gate. Keep one day's afternoon free for the hotel pool; children flag quickly in the heat.

Before booking, read your government's travel advice: the US State Department has a Level 3 "Reconsider Travel" advisory for the UAE (reissued 29 August 2026), and Canada advises avoiding non-essential travel.
Three to four full days covers Downtown, one theme park, one outdoor day and a beach or desert day without rushing. Add a fifth day if you want a second theme park or a trip to Abu Dhabi.

November to March for outdoor days. Dubai Safari Park and Dubai Miracle Garden are seasonal and reopen from October, so a summer trip should lean on indoor parks, malls and early-morning beach time.
Many operators take children on evening safaris, but dune bashing is not suitable for very young children or anyone with back problems. Ask the operator about minimum ages and car seats, or choose a gentler family option without dune bashing.
