The Seven Galleries

The Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization is housed in a converted traditional souk building near the Sharjah Corniche, topped by a distinctive golden dome. The collection spans 7 galleries covering Islamic science, Quran manuscripts, art, trade, and astronomy.

Don't miss: The Astronomy Gallery astrolabes — these 10th-13th century instruments calculated prayer times, determined the direction of Mecca, and tracked celestial movements with extraordinary precision. Far more sophisticated than anything contemporary in medieval Europe.
