Aquaventure World
Visit Dubai calls Aquaventure World at Atlantis The Palm the city's biggest waterpark. Its Dubai Pass listing describes more than 100 water attractions, including slides, a 2.3 km river ride, wave pools and a children's area called Splashers. It opens daily from 10:00 to 18:30, with longer weekend hours in some summer periods.
An adult day pass costs about AED 389 as of September 2026, and prices are dynamic. Visit Dubai's Dubai Pass listing put the gate price at about USD 106 for adults and USD 91 for children. Buying online in advance, UAE resident offers and seasonal deals are usually cheaper than the gate. Some day passes also cover the Lost World Aquarium, so check what your ticket includes. See our Aquaventure ticket types and prices and our Aquaventure tips for queues and families.
Lost World Aquarium
The aquarium inside Atlantis The Palm, formerly called The Lost Chambers, reopened in October 2025 as the Lost World Aquarium after a full redesign. Visit Dubai describes it as home to more than 65,000 marine animals. It works well as an indoor, lower-cost alternative for families who do not want a full waterpark day.
The View at The Palm
The View is an observation deck on Level 52 of The Palm Tower, about 240 metres up, and is reached from inside Palm Jumeirah Mall. It is the easiest way to see the palm shape itself, which you cannot appreciate from ground level. Standard admission is AED 110, with a lower price sometimes offered online, and the attraction is open daily from 10:00 to 19:00. Late afternoon slots are the most popular for sunset.
The Boardwalk and Palm West Beach
The Boardwalk runs for about 11 km along the inside of the crescent, with views back towards Dubai Marina and the city skyline. It is free and has cafes and kiosks along the way. Walking the full length takes two to three hours, so most people pick a section near their hotel. More free options are in our free things to do on Palm Jumeirah list.
Palm West Beach is a public beachfront of about 1.6 km with free entry and a strip of restaurants and beach clubs. You pay only if you rent a sunbed or use a club. For other free and paid options across the city, see our Dubai beaches guide.
Palm Jumeirah Mall
Nakheel Mall was renamed Palm Jumeirah Mall in September 2025. It sits on the trunk, has its own monorail station and is the entrance to The View. It is useful for a cheaper lunch, a cinema trip or a break from the heat between attractions.
Water sports and skydiving
Jet skis, paddleboards and boat trips run from beach clubs and marinas around the crescent and nearby Dubai Marina. Prices depend heavily on the operator and duration, so compare quotes before booking. Our Dubai water sports guide covers what to expect. Skydive Dubai's drop zone overlooks the Palm, which is where most tandem jump photos of the island are taken.
The Pointe, the former dining strip facing Atlantis, closed in 2023 and the Palm Fountain there no longer runs, so skip it. What happened to The Pointe has the details.
Palm Monorail ride
The monorail up the trunk is transport, but it doubles as a cheap sightseeing ride with views over the fronds. A ticket from Palm Gateway to Atlantis costs AED 20 one way or AED 30 return, and trains run from about 09:00 to 22:00. It reopened in July 2026 after a maintenance closure. Children under 5 or under 110 cm ride free, according to the operator. Tram connections, taxis and driving are covered in our visitor guide.
Eating out as an activity
Dining here ranges from mall food courts to some of Dubai's most expensive restaurants. As a rule of thumb:
- Budget: Palm Jumeirah Mall food outlets and Boardwalk kiosks.
- Mid-range: the restaurants along Palm West Beach and in the crescent hotels, many with sea views.
- Special occasion: Atlantis The Palm and Atlantis The Royal host celebrity-chef restaurants. Ossiano at Atlantis The Palm is the underwater restaurant, with floor-to-ceiling aquarium views. Nobu and Seafire are also at Atlantis The Palm but are not underwater.
Book dinner at the Atlantis restaurants in advance, especially for weekend and winter evenings. Menus and prices change, so check the restaurant's own page when booking.

Best time for Palm activities
November to March is the most comfortable time for the beach, the Boardwalk and a waterpark day. From June to September, daytime heat regularly exceeds 40°C, so plan outdoor time for early morning or after sunset and use The View, the aquarium and the mall in the middle of the day. Winter and school holidays are the busiest and most expensive periods for hotels. Our Dubai weather by month page has more detail.
A simple half-day plan: monorail from Palm Gateway to Palm Jumeirah Mall, The View in the late afternoon, then a sunset walk on the Boardwalk or dinner at West Beach.
