Karachi Darbar (AED 15-30), Al Ustad Special (AED 20-40), or any of the authentic Pakistani and Indian restaurants near the souks. Exceptional food at budget prices.
Deira Textile Souk (free, silk, pashminas, fabrics) and Heritage House museum (free, traditional Emirati home from 1890s). Then Abra back to Bur Dubai.
End the day at Al Seef — a beautifully restored waterfront area with creek views, restaurants, and a traditional atmosphere. Sunset over the Creek is magnificent.

Yes — very safe. Bur Dubai and Deira are among the most densely populated and commercially active areas of Dubai. Heavy foot traffic throughout the day and well into the evening. Standard city precautions apply — keep valuables close in crowded souk areas.
9am-noon for cool morning temperatures and the freshest souk stalls. October-April for comfortable weather. Evenings (after 6pm) are also magical — the Creek reflects the old dhow lights and the souks stay open until 10pm. Avoid Friday mornings (souks close for prayers).
For Bur Dubai (Al Fahidi, Dubai Museum): Green Line to Al Ghubaiba station (5-10 minute walk). For Deira (souks): take the AED 1 Abra from Bur Dubai across the Creek — faster and more scenic than Metro for the souk side. Alternatively, Green Line to BurJuman then taxi AED 10.
